High Commitment Class
COVENANT is a 24-week, in-depth group Bible Study in which people read and discuss the Bible together; learning how to love God-and others-better. The program covers both Testaments-discussing books from each in a way that shows the interconnectedness of Scripture as a whole. COVENANT BIBLE STUDY is broken into three eight-week modules-each dealing with a different aspect of what covenant means: CREATING, LIVING, TRUSTING.

Class will start at 9:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 7 in the upstairs Magnolia building. The class will finish at 10:45 a.m. and then attend either the 11 Magnolia Service or 11 Sanctuary service together as a group. The commitment each Sunday will be from 9:30 a.m. - noon. It is a 24 week study that ends the last week of March and will have holiday weekends off.

Youth Council

Would you like to be a leader in our Youth Program? Would you like to have a say in what we do here at Merge weekly, monthly and yearly? We need youth to help lead other youth through this ministry and to Merge Real Faith with Real Life.

This is the perfect opportunity to do that. Below are a list of positions that we need on our Youth Council for this coming year. Please download the position you would like to hold and be responsible for this year. Then fill out the nomination form and return to our Director of Youth Ministry, Emily Felgenhauer. Once she has received your nomination form she will schedule you for an interview with her and other adult leaders at MERGE.
Rocktoberfest
Join us 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 for Rocktoberfest, a music festival for all ages. Unite for a night of music and missions! Jam out and learn how you can support Hyde Park's mission partners while making God's love real in Tampa and throughout the world. Featuring live music by local bands and musicians as well as kid's activities. Food available for purchase. Admission $5 per person, no more than $20 per family. For more information, click here.

Youth Essay Contest

For our annual Missions Celebration, the Missions and Outreach Committee is sponsoring a Youth Essay Contest on "How has serving made an impact on you and helped our community or our world?" A $250 Mission Trip Scholarship will be awarded to the middle school and high school winners! Essays should be 500 words and written in Microsoft Word format. Submissions are due by 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29. To review all the rules, please click here.

First Priority is a Christian Club that meets at almost all of our Tampa Bay schools. This is like a bible study where we talk about Scripture, pray for our schools, teachers and friends. These clubs are all student led but have Youth Pastors from all over the Tampa Bay Area helping lead them. Below is a schedule of when/where each club is meeting. Middle and High School Merge, Sunday, 5:15-8 p.m.
Session Two: An Unlikely Place
At youth group. At a retreat. With Christian friends. Those are the likely places we expect to find God. But the funny thing about him is that he doesn't like to be boxed in. God shows up in the most unlikely places. Just look at how Jesus came into the world-in relative obscurity. If we look at some areas of our lives, we would probably say that God would show up anywhere but here-whether "here" is homeroom, the hallways at school, your job bagging groceries or even your home. But remember that God shows up in the most unlikely places. Please join us at Merge this Sunday. When you bring a friend, they get a really cool blue Merge Tumbler. Join us for dinner ($5) in the Harnish Activities Center at 5:15 p.m. each week. Dinner is only served for 30 minutes so don't be late!

Student Opportunities
Are you interested in making God's love real to the children of Hyde Park? Children's Ministries is looking for youth to serve as assistant small group shepherds, greeters, or tech helpers at both 9:30 and 11:00 Sunday Morning Live programming. If interested, contact Kathy DiRaimo to find out about training and opportunities that might be a good fit for you.
