Night of Joy

Merge is attending Night of Joy on Saturday, Sept. 6. We leave church at 2 p.m. in a coach bus and return by 2 a.m. We are now reserving spots for this epic night of Christian entertainment. Featured bands for the night are: Skillet, MercyMe, Israel Houghton & New Breed, Casting Crowns, Britt Nicole, Colton Dixon, Rhett Walker, We As Human, and 1 Girl Nation. The cost is $90 and includes your ticket, a meal ticket and the bus ride. Click here to sign up.

Youth Praise Team Training
Aug. 23, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

We'll start with a family meeting from 10-10:30 a.m. to discuss our covenant and expectations and then move to team training from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Meet us in the Magnolia building as we get ready to lead!


Rocktoberfest
Join us 5-9 p.m. Saturday Oct. 4 for Rocktoberfest, a music festival for the whole family. Unite for a night of music and missions! Jam out and learn how you can support Hyde Park's mission partners while making God's love real in Tampa and throughout the world. Featuring live music by local bands and musicians and kid's activities. Food available for purchase. Admission $5 per person, no more than $20 per family.

If you haven't noticed by now, we're going to clue you in on something big about God-he doesn't exactly operate like most of us. What we mean is, he chooses the most unlikely people to work through. He shows up in the most unlikely places. And then he asks us to respond in ways that are unlikely and go against our normal response. And what it all boils down to is this-you and I are unlikely people God uses in unlikely places to respond in unlikely ways.

This week we will be discussing how sometimes we think that everyone else is more qualified or likely than we are to be a part of God's story. But even though we may feel insignificant, unimportant or unworthy, God says we are not only valuable-we are wanted! Even though we, or even others, would declare us unlikely, God says we're not. He declares the unlikely, "likely." Because what God wants is people who are available-he always picks availability over ability.

Student Opportunities
Are you interested in making God's love real to the children of Hyde Park? Children's Ministries is looking for youth to serve as assistant small group shepherds, greeters, or tech helpers at both 9:30 and 11:00 Sunday Morning Live programming. If interested, contact Kathy DiRaimo to find out about training and opportunities that might be a good fit for you.
