 EmilyEMILY'S MESSAGE
Please be in prayer for our High School Mission Team that left yesterday for Guatemala. Guatemala is a Representative Democracy in Central America bordered by both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. During this Guatemalan mission trip, groups will stay and serve in the old Spanish colonial town of Antigua, which is about thirty miles west of the capital, Guatemala City. Antigua offers a wonderful opportunity for youth to serve in a cross-cultural mission experience. The weak and shrinking economy has left many people without work and living in poverty. Our group partners with local ministries and churches to help serve those in need through hands-on projects that bring homes back to livable conditions. Youth will also minister in the community through children's outreach ministry and serving in clothing and food distribution centers. Your youth and leaders will experience a totally different culture and form bonds with the people they serve that will last a lifetime.

Leadership Training
Wednesday, Aug. 13
We will be training all of our children and youth volunteers for the 2014/2015 school year Wednesday, Aug. 13. Training starts with dinner at 6 p.m. in the Harnish Activities Center followed by a quick overview of the Child Protection Policy. At 7 p.m., we will split into our various ministries to discuss each person's specific role for this year. This is a mandatory training. If you CANNOT attend please send your regrets to Kathy DiRaimo so we can make special arrangements to meet with you on another date.

Back to School Bash, Sunday, Aug. 17
We will have our annual Back to School Night 6-8 p.m. in the Activities Center. This is the one time during the year that we get all of our Merge families in one room. The night will start with dinner at 6 p.m. and then dive right into all of the programming during the year. This is a great time for parents to look ahead to see how their teenager can be involved in Merge on a weekly basis. Parents will be meeting their student's small group leader, receive all programming dates, fill out necessary forms and feel encouraged through the monthly series our families will be learning at Merge. Please RSVP through our church website.

Night of Joy
Merge is attending Night of Joy on Saturday, Sept. 6. We leave church at 2 p.m. in a coach bus and return by 2 a.m. We are now reserving spots for this epic night of Christian entertainment. Featured bands for the night are: Skillet, MercyMe, Israel Houghton & New Breed, Casting Crowns, Britt Nicole, Colton Dixon, Rhett Walker, We As Human, and 1 Girl Nation. The cost is $90 and includes your ticket, a meal ticket and the bus ride. Click here to sign up.

Middle School Bible Study
This summer, our middle school students will take a journey through many books of the Bible. We will look at questions about sanctification, convictions and idolatry through analysis of Bible verses, a chapter of Psalms and a significant Bible story. Join us 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesdays from June 11 to Aug. 6 for Biblical knowledge and tons of fun!

High School Bible Study
Tuesday nights this summer, the high school students will dive into the book of Ecclesiastes, which has long been considered a great book for people who want to grow in their faith to read. We will ask the hard questions and get the answers which have helped people for thousands of years. Come to Blake and Kristin Morris' home (3409 W. Corona St. Tampa, FL 33629) between 6-8 p.m., dinner included. Hope to see you there!
