What's new for some...is old for others. 
 
We would like to ask all dealers to be considerate of the learning curve for others as we may repeat ourselves for the benefit of some dealers... hopefully most benefit from the Newsletter.
The Most Frequently Asked Question Last Week was..
How Do I Sell More Screens At My Home Show?
 
The home show season is in full swing. Four weeks done and about 8 strong weeks of shows remaining. We know... weather-wise, it has been a beastly February and March to date! Nevertheless, in the four weekends past, our dealers have shown the Lifestyle at just under 50 shows. This weekend the Lifestyle will be appearing in at least 14 shows nationwide in 9 of the lower 48 states.
 
The most common comment from these dealers is that their booth was the most visited and most popular booth at the home show. All of the dealer's competitors were green with envy at the crowds around our product display.
    
That being said, some dealers close many sales at the shows. Others do not. Why?
  
The answer lies in one of three areas:
1. Did the dealer utilize our proven product presentation technique?
2. Was the dealer prepared to take a deposit from show attendees and did so?
3. Did the dealer take advantage of the free marketing opportunities at the show?

Every Door Direct Mail through the USPS.

How many of you have always wanted to do a mail piece for your business only to discover that buying or compiling a mailing list is not only time consuming but expensive? Well, the USPS now has a system called Every Door Direct Mailing that allows you to send out your mail piece to carrier routes of your choosing. I have to admit, I used mailings ALOT in my past career, if only the Post Office offered this back then!

The cost per piece delivered is $.16 plus your mail piece. The Post Office has definitely hit a home run with this program.

Installation Spotlight
Lifestyle Center Door Handle Mounting
Proper installation eliminates call backs.
 
Recently we received a call from a dealer that said their customer was saying the retractable center door was coming out of the track. I asked if the dealer could send a picture to me to diagnose the issue. The issue was that the handles were mounted nearly to the top of the pull bar. This caused the pull bar to be pulled harder at the top than the bottom, thus allowing the bottom to come off track.
ALWAYS mount your handle sets as close to center as possible. Adjust the position of the handle and secure it in place using the Allen wrench that accompanies each unit. Doing so will ensure smooth, trouble free operation and happy customer!
 
  
Retractable Screens: Milano 100 & 200
Suggested pricing for quoting consumers
  
We are often asked when it comes to pricing the Milano retractable door units, what price should they quote a consumer on an installation? I would like to take this time to shed a bit of light on this subject.

First, let's take the Milano 100 as an example. Typically, an installer would get anywhere from $359.00 to $399.00 for the furnish and install on a 84" tall or shorter opening. Dealers are adding $20-$100 more for the 100" - 85" tall units.

The Milano 200 for double doors and French doors are being furnished and installed from $599.00 to $799.00.
