DevCo Inc, 4-Star Multifamily
Discovery West is the fourth DevCo project in the Issaquah Highlands. The project sits on a four-acre parcel and is a residential multi-family project. There are 209 units, mostly flats, but the project also includes eight carriage housing units. The largest building incorporates an underground parking garage. The second largest building includes project amenities, such as leasing, caf�, lounge, fitness area, indoor pool and kids play zone. The site has surface parking, rain gardens, a large open lawn with bocce court, community gardens, outdoor plazas and a pet off-leash area. It also includes a bike barn, with a tool station, to accommodate residents' bikes; and associated streetscapes and connections to trails.

Introducing Talia Haller, Built Green Intern
We're excited to introduce our intern, Tali, who will be helping us this summer! Tali is a rising junior at UW, where she is studying International Studies and Business Administration, with a concentration on Energy and Environmental Policy. She will be a great help as we prepare for our conference, analyze green home data and communicate with members and the public. Welcome her along with us!
WaterSense New Homes Incentive Update
Built Green and Cascade Water Alliance are still offering the WaterSense New Homes Incentive Program in 2016! In fact, we have expanded the $1,000 per unit offering to reward both multi-family and single-family projects. Seattle City Light Built Green Incentive
Great news for builders! Seattle City Light is offering an incentive to builders with projects in their territory. Projects that use ductless heat pumps as the primary heat source and achieve Built Green 4- or 5-Star certification can receive $1,500 per unit! Seattle Tilth's Chicken Coop & Urban Farm Tour
July 16, Various Neighborhoods, Seattle
Seattle is a national hot spot for chicken coops and urban farms! This is your chance to visit folks who are keeping chickens and creating unique and inspiring urban farms. In this self-guided tour, you will see simple chicken coops built in an afternoon and elaborate finely-crafted coops that took weeks of planning and building. See what's needed for keeping miniature goats, ducks, mason bees, honey bees and rabbits. There are sites all around Seattle. Learn more.
Build a Ferror-Cement Tank - Rainwater Catchment System
July 19 to July 23, Friendly Water for the World, Yelm
Friendly Water for the World Technical Advisor Wayne Medrud and Youth Representative Noah Medrud learned to build these catchment systems while working with Friendly Water in Uganda. Soon they will be returning to India to build them at a new training center in Gandhigram, Tamil Nadu. So they need the practice, and are ready to teach this 5-day training! Cost is $100.
