News from the Emporia Farmers Market

November 2014

Volume 8, Number 10

Produce expected at Saturday's market: Romaine, kale, arugula, tomatoes, green peppers, sweet potatoes, radishes, spinach, squash, watermelon, apples, fresh herbs, chard, and more!

This is the weekend that the Emporia Farmers Market moves to the Emporia Humanitarian Center, 215 W. 6th Avenue. We will be open from 10am until Noon this Saturday, November 1. We look forward to seeing you there!

The key to winter markets is the numbers 1 and 3. If you remember that the market is open at our indoor, winter location on the first and third Saturdays of each month, you will never miss us. This is especially important since the month of November has five Saturdays. We will be open November 1 and 15 and then will take two weeks off before December markets.

I hope to see you at Soup-A-Palooza on Election Day, as well. Go vote, and then stay out of the kitchen. Let the Friends of the Emporia Farmers Market do the cooking! We will be serving at the Lyon County Extension Office from 11am until 7pm. Both dine-in and carry-out options are available. Please see details below in this newsletter.

See you at the market!

Tracy

Special Notice: Beth Cole, you are the winner of our "bottom of the newsletter bonus" from the October newsletter. Congratulations! Your t-shirt will be available to pick up at the EFM table as you enter the Emporia Humanitarian Center.

The Emporia Farmers Market fulfills a central role in the community's grand equation, offering a place of fellowship throughout the year, moving produce, producer, and consumer closer to a kindred realm, bridging lives with local growth, local arts, local writers and musicians, creating rhythms of seasons and relationship so well maintained as to seem always new and continuing together.
