Custom, one-of-a-kind furniture
Do you get frustrated when you cannot find the exact piece of furniture you are dreaming of? Want to have a piece of furniture that nobody else has? One that fits perfectly into your home and reflects your style preferences?
For the dining room above, we designed a custom dining table and buffet server to fit the exact dimensions of the room. My client and I worked with Colorado-based
New Classics to design and create the custom pieces. Since the choices are virtually limitless when it comes to custom furniture, it helps to work with an interior design to guide the process along.
To start the process, we perused the company's extensive collection of existing tables and servers. My client fell in love with two different tables: one with curved bronze inlays and another with an elaborate leaf border with wood inlays. Once my client had picked out her favorite designs, the real fun started: we combined design elements from different furniture pieces into our own one-of-a-kind pieces, specified the dimensions, and selected the types of wood and stains for each piece. New Classics then took our ideas and put them down on paper to develop design drawings:

After a few rounds of back and forth to refine the details, we signed off on the designs. For the next step, the company created some sample boards using our chosen design, wood, and stain preferences:

Once we signed off on the sample boards, the custom furniture went into production. Fourteen weeks later, the pieces were completed and delivered to my client's home. My client and her husband are thrilled with their custom, one-of-a-kind furniture pieces. Their friends frequently comment about the beauty and custom fit of these furniture pieces.
