Monthly Update: City Festival

Movie Outreach

April is usually the month in which all thing are in bloom and nature and people come awake from their winter slumber. But this April has shown us its ugly, rainy face which had made all of us a bit gloomy. Inspite of the gloom, however, on Sunday, April 17^th we organized yet another movie premiere featuring the movie "Do You Believe?" This movie follows the lives of twelve different people with a strong message of redemption, the cross and its power. That Sunday evening our meeting place was full of our friends, family members and colleagues who came to see this powerful movie and later on stayed to talk about its message. After the movie, one of our members shared the Gospel message and invited people to accept Jesus' sacrifice and believe in the power of the cross.

Church Facility

Presently we are facing a difficult situation regarding our facilities. The two other churches with whom we've shared our building have decided to move. We are now facing negotiations with the owner to remain here at a price that we can afford (which is much lower than the current price shared by the three of us). In this event we would need to move our offices which are currently at a seperate location and in the case that the owner does not agree to our price, we would need to find a new place of meeting which can be both stressful and very difficult. Please pray for the best solution and that God provides everything we need.

City Outreach - JarunFest

As summer approaches, we become more involved in planning and organizing our largest evangelistic event of the year - JarunFest. As in previous years, this all day event will be held at a local park on the lake, Jarun. This is a popular spot where many Zagrebians come to spend time with their families, play sports and have picnics, ect. We are planning to host concerts featuring various Croatian Christian bands as well as activities for children including jumping castles, face painting and other fun sports activities. We will pass out 1, 500 free hamburgers and hot dogs along with free copies of New Testament and brochures including the salvation message. This is an enormous project requiring a massive amount of work, time and effort, but we are happy to say that thus far things have gone according to plan. Nonetheless, we would like to ask you to pray that God would prepare hearts to receive the Gospel and to provide us with favorable weather as the entire event is outdoors.

Graduation Day

The week following JarunFest, marks the end of the school year. Bonnie and the children are working hard to finish this year strong. While we are on the subject of finishing school. Last week Mario travelled to Osijek where he received his diploma as a Doctor of Ministry from Michael Starin Protestant Theological Seminary. It was an exciting weekend as well as a relief to have completed this milestone.
