A wealth of home health support at your fingertips

Is your agency facing a specific QI challenge? Chances are, another agency in the HHQI community has had a similar experience, and they might be able to offer some advice and resources.

HHQI's next LiveChat is Thursday, November 13 at 2pm (ET), and it's the perfect opportunity to network with the HHQI team and other home health agencies. LiveChat is a casual, online forum where home health professionals can learn from each other by asking questions and sharing best practices.

We hope you'll join us! Set an email reminder now.
Coming Soon: Spanish translations of more patient tools

HHQI is excited to provide even more key patient tools in Spanish. We know that many home health agencies need translated tools for patients and families. In November 2014, HHQI will begin posting Spanish versions of some of our key patient tools. All of our tools are free and in the public domain - so you can use them as-is or customize them for your agency. Learn more.

Join the Cardiovascular Health Improvement Movement

In support of your cardiovascular health improvement efforts, HHQI invites home health agencies and other stakeholders to join the new Progressive Cardiovascular Learning & Action Network (CardioLAN).

The CardioLAN is a diverse group of individuals from various healthcare organizations - such as home health agencies, associations, and QIN-QIOs - who share a commitment to improving preventive cardiovascular care. Learn more.

Please note: If you signed up for the Home Health Cardiovascular Data Registry (HHCDR) between September 2013 and July 2014, you are already signed up for the CardioLAN. If you would like to be removed, please email us at HHQI@wvmi.org.

Call for Nominations: HHQI Agency of the Month

Would you like the chance to show the nation how committed to quality improvement your home health agency is? This is your chance! All HHQI National Campaign participants have the opportunity to enter our Agency of the Month contest. If your agency is selected, your organization's logo and link to your website will be prominently featured on the HHQI website and here in HHQI Inside Edition, our monthly e-newsletter that reaches more than 16,000 people. Learn more.

Home health environments can predict hospitalizations

According to a research article published in October 2014, home health agencies (HHAs) with good work environments have lower hospitalization rates and higher rates of discharge to the community (e.g., home, ALF, PCH). The study is based upon data from the 2006 University of Pennsylvania Multistate Nursing Care and Patient Safety Study which includes participants from 118 Medicare and Medicaid certified HHAs in California, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania and more than 1,400 registered nurses.
