National Cultural and Linguistic Appropriate Services (CLAS) Standards 2013

Earlier this year the HHS Office of Minority Health updated the CLAS standards following 10 years of successful implantation. The modifications were needed to changing health and health disparities, changing demographics and legal changes.

The revised CLAS Standards expand definitions of Culture, Audience, Health, and Recipients.

Below are some resources:

The CMS Health Disparities PULSE Resource Center is a new website geared toward reducing and eliminating health disparities for vulnerable minority populations. PULSE is an acronym for Portal to Understanding, Learning, Sharing and Educating, and the website will be a public resource dedicated to promoting health equity through an abundance of resources and interventions

Find plenty of National CLAS Standards Tools and Resources including:

  • Presentations
