God's Attributes Show His Faithfulness and Righteousness - (Psalm 89:13-14)

Daily Praise
You have a mighty arm; strong is Your hand, and high is Your right hand. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth go before Your face.

Reading Notes
Here in these passages the psalmist is recounting some of the attributes of God. His power, mercy and justice. Which are just a few of God's many attributes which also include omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence, immutability and holiness. The psalmist does this to show us and help us understand God's faithfulness and commitment to His people. The reference to God's right hand is a euphemism that identifies God's sovereign authority and power over all of creation including humanity. While the reference to His righteousness, justice and mercy show us the reliability of the Lord. Not mentioned here, but implied in these passages is God's immutable, which means God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

This means that His promises never change, His love for us never changes, His justice never changes, and His mercy never changes. Unlike mankind, God does not change His mind. Therefore, we can take comfort in knowing God's love and promises for us, are forever. In addition, the phrase "righteousness and justice" refer to God's complete and total justice and righteousness. And we must remember right now God is long suffering, allowing sin in order to bring all who will come to faith in Christ to salvation. However, that time will quickly run out and once it does, it will be too late and those who have rejected Jesus and the salvation He alone can provide. And they will have to face God's justice for their sins without His mercy of the Cross.
