Reading Notes
Everything we have is a gift from the Lord! It's the Lord who gave us our talents and abilities to earn our living, provide for ourselves and our families. Moreover, we who are followers of Jesus understand that our faith in Christ calls us to use our time, talents and resources to honor the Lord. By first giving back to the Lord with our time, talents and wealth, we honor God by helping to provide for kingdom work. We do this because of the love we have for Jesus and not because we have to. In addition, we love the Lord because Jesus first loved us and gave Himself that we may spend eternity with Him. Jesus the eternal God of Heaven stepped out of eternity and took on humanity in order to save us from the penalty of sin which is death and eternal separation from God.

And because of our faith, through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, God gives us specific talents and abilities to help us build up the body of Christ, which is the church. Through which we bring the Gospel Message to those who are lost and do not as of yet have a relationship with God through Christ. This basic principle is so important to us as Christians, because cheerfully giving out of our love for God the Father, out our love for Jesus and through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, shows our trust and faith in the Lord to provide for our needs. Moreover, it allows us the gift of blessing others with our giving. In addition, tithing our time, talents, resources and wealth, give us the blessing of participating in God's work of saving the lost and helping those in need, as well as the building up of the saints to further the work of God's kingdom.
