Through the Proverbs
Old Testament
Know God, Exist in Christ, This is Wisdom - (Proverbs 9:10-11)

Daily Wisdom
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. For by me your days will be multiplied, and years of life will be added to you.

Reading Notes
The word used here for "fear" has a much broader and deeper, meaning than we realize at first glance. It does not mean to be afraid of God. Instead, it means to have a deep down heartfelt love, respect and reverence for God. To have a sense of awe and wonder of God. To understand He is our creator and because of Him and through Him we exist and have our being. This is the foundational basis of all Biblical wisdom. With this foundation in place and our understanding of who Jesus is and what he has done for us, we then have a correct perspective with which to approach His word.

God's word is His revelation to us regarding His plan of Redemption and His interactions with mankind. And because of this the Bible from front cover to back cover, from Old Testament to New Testament is about Christ Jesus our Lord. And as we study God's word, it helps us to be more sensitive to the promptings and guidance of the Holy Spirit, whereby we have a heart ready to receive wisdom through the study of God's word. This in turn brings us into the saving knowledge of Christ Jesus our Lord. And through Him we have eternity added unto our lives because of the salvation He alone can provide. And knowing this and being in Christ is truly the beginning of wisdom and understanding as we grow in the Lord through the study of God's word.
