God Promises He is Not Far From Us - (Acts 17:26-28)

Bible Promise
Reach out and you will touch Me, for I am not far from you.

Bible Verse
And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, "so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and have our being."

Reading Notes
There is so much going on in these few passages of scripture. First, we are all one blood, because all men are created equal in God's sight, and we are all descendants from one man Adam. Luke points this out because in ancient times nations like the Greeks honestly believed they were created differently than the rest of humanity. They felt they were descended from special Greek gods, therefore they referred to all other people groups as barbarians. We also see here God's sovereignty because it's the Lord, who determines the rise and fall of nations as well as the pre-appointed times for men.

In addition, God has given us His creation. The Bible tells us that by Jesus all things were created, and through Jesus all things are held together. Therefore, God has left His fingerprint on creation, thereby through observation of nature, we have evidence of the Creator. And because we have evidence of a Creator, we should seek Him out with all our hearts. And God has promised us that anyone who truly seeks Him with all their hearts, He will make Himself known to them. Therefore, since we are created by Christ Jesus, and through Him we have a close relationship with God the Father, we should seek Him out. And we do so knowing He is not far from each of us. Moreover, through the work of the Holy Spirit, He is always calling us to Himself.
