The Book of Psalms
Through the Psalms
Old Testament
In Christ We Worship the True and Living God - (Psalm 86:8-9)

Daily Praise
Among the gods there is none like You, O Lord; Nor are there any works like Your works. All nations whom You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And shall glorify Your name.

Reading Notes
These passages are telling us two things. First, they are comparing our Lord and Savior the true and living God with the pagan deities and demons worshiped by other religions. This is a very important point for us and we should not pass over this too lightly. In our world today, especially in the west we tend to compare religions as if we are shopping at the produce stand. We compare one with another, smell and taste each one to see which one fits best for us. However, that could not be more wrong! There is only one God, one creator over all. And all people great and small who are found without Jesus will stand before our God and give an account for all sins committed in both thought and deed.

All other religions of the world do not worship God. That is the biggest lie of Satan! They worship a created being of one sort or another, in other words, they follow a fallen angel or demon who is an agent of Satan. There is only one Lord and Savior that is Christ Jesus our Lord. Second, this passage looks ahead to a time yet future. The time of the Messianic kingdom or the one-thousand year reign of Christ, just before God ushers in the new heavens and the new earth. This is a time when all nations shall come before Christ, worship and glorify His name alone. As the Bible tells us there is a time coming when all knees will bow and all tongues confess Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
