God Will Hear Us in Our Day of Trouble - (Psalm 86:6-7)

Daily Praise
Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications. In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, for You will answer me.

Reading Notes
As followers of Jesus, we have a special place in the eyes of God. We are forgiven and we have a new relationship with the God of the Bible. And because of that relationship this verse applies to us; because we have a Father in Heaven who loves us dearly. Dear believer do you truly understand how special a privilege we have through Christ Jesus our Lord? No other people on the face of the earth today can say that they have a true relationship with God. A relationship based on love and what God did for us, not based on our works meant to earn our way to heaven. And that's what David is speaking about in these passages. This psalm was a personal lament of David during a time of trial.

David was going through a trial and he was calling on God to come close to him so he could maintain that close relationship he had known in the past. David knows the Lord is present and he is calling out to God to answer and help in his time of need. And this type of close relationship is still possible today. The Bible tells us there is only one way to God the Father and that is through God the Son, who is Jesus Christ our Lord. There is no other way to restore our relationship with God. A relationship that was forever broken because of sin and the fall of mankind. A relationship that God Himself has provided a way to restore. And because of what Jesus did for us and because of our relationship with Him we too can call on God in our day of trouble. And because of that relationship God is faithful to answer His children, whom He loves dearly.
