Salvation - (Joel 2:32, John 6:47

Bible Verse
And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. ...Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus] has everlasting life.

Reading Notes
From the Old Testament to the New Testament, God's word promises us that salvation is found in Christ alone through faith alone in Him. Whoever calls on the name of Jesus and believes in Him shall be saved. This means as Christians, we need to remember our calling is to present the Gospel message to the rest of the world. To tell others about Jesus and what He has done in our lives. We understand that salvation is a work done by the Trinity as the Godhead works together to bring people to faith in Christ. However, if we submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God can use us in His service to spread the Gospel to those who are lost. This is important for us to remember because before a person can be saved the Holy Spirit must first work on their hearts. And the Holy Spirit can use us to share the Gospel with those whose hearts He has prepared to hear the message of God's saving grace.

Therefore, it's important to remember that in order for a person to be saved, they must first understand who Jesus is, understand why salvation is necessary and understand what Jesus has done for us and what He means in regards to where they will spend eternity. Our role is to spread the Gospel message by making ourselves available to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and following His direction. The Holy Spirit will lead us to those He has prepared to hear about Jesus. It's through the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives, brought about by our faith in Jesus that our lives change and take on a meaning that brings light to a dark world. If we prepare ourselves by studying and memorizing God's word, spending time in prayer and following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, God will use us by bringing people across our path for us to meet and share our knowledge of who Jesus is and what He has done for us. Those whom He would like us to interact with and share our faith and Bible understanding with. In addition, our faith and knowledge of Jesus helps us to better serve those in need with compassion, mercy and grace. This is the heart of ministry and service to Christ.
