The Gospel According to John
Bible Promises
New Testament
God Promises He Has Prepared a Room for Us - (John 14:2-3)

Bible Promise
There is a special room in My house prepared just for you.

Bible Verse
In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Reading Notes
As we read this passage we should take note that the term for mansions, means rooms or in today's vernacular large apartments. In other words the Father's house has many rooms and Jesus is preparing one for us now. Then later, He will return to bring us there where He is. We will live in His house with Him as part of His family. Dear believers this is a wonderful promise and notice that there is no discussion of judgments in these passages. That is because, all those who have placed their faith in Jesus, will not experience God's judgment.

Also notice there is nothing in this passage speaking about judging the wicked either. That's because this passage is in part speaking of the rapture, not the second coming when Jesus returns to judge the nations. The rapture is a time when Jesus will come to take us where He is, a time before God pours out His wrath and judgment on the earth. A time when Jesus will descend from Heaven with a shout and we will meet Him in the air. Moreover, we will return with Jesus and serve Him during His one-thousand year millennial kingdom. And we will be present with Jesus when He ushers in the new heavens and the new earth.
