The Holy Spirit Brings Us Strength, Because Jesus Restores Relationship - (Psalm 84:5-8)

Daily Praise
Blessed is the man whose strength is in You, Whose heart is set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, They make it a spring; The rain also covers it with pools. They go from strength to strength; Each one appears before God in Zion. O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer; Give ear, O God of Jacob Selah

Reading Notes
The Hebrew word "Baca" means "arid" or "dry place", it can also mean "weeping." The phrase "Valley of Baca", refers to an arid dry place that brought suffering. The actual location is unknown, but the message is clear. The pilgrim on his way to worship God with his heart set on the Lord, has an overflowing joy and love in his heart, which make even this dry, arid place seem like passing by a spring of water, or like spring time with the rain. And even though the journey was difficult and the traveler was weary, the spirit of God would refresh and rejuvenate the pilgrim giving him energy and strength for the hour needed. As we read through these wonderful passages we should not pass over the treasures hidden inside too quickly.

There are important Biblical truths given to us in these verses. First the Lord is our strength and even when we are week emotionally and physically God can make us strong. And second because of what Jesus did for us and our faith in Him, we do not have to travel to a special place to worship God. We have the New Covenant! Jesus has gained for us access to come before God our heavenly Father at any time. Because we now through Jesus have a restored relationship with God. A relationship which, before our faith in Christ broken by sin, was restored by our faith in Jesus. Because of what Jesus did for us on the Cross of Calvary and our faith in Him, our relationship with God the Father has been restored. This means we can now come before God and call Him "Father!" Moreover, we can build our relationship with Him deeper through our study of His word and our submission to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
