The End of Sin is Always Pain, Regret and Destruction - (Proverbs 5:11-14)

Daily Wisdom
And you mourn at last, when your flesh and your body are consumed, and say: "How I have hated instruction, and my heart despised correction I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to those who instructed me I was on the verge of total ruin, in the midst of the assembly and congregation."

Reading Notes
Often times in our fallen state or when we are consumed by sin, we rebel against the Lord and all that is good, especially instruction and warning. It's very true of our sin nature that when we are in the midst of sin and rebellion against God, the last thing we want to hear is a warning of danger ahead. Because of our rebellion, we ignore the cry of someone trying to stop us from our own self-destruction. Instead in our pride we dive headlong into our desires even if it destroys our lives and the lives of those around us. And often times when we finally stop and look it can be too late as the passage above describes, we have destroyed our lives and hurt those around us. However, dear believer remember it is never too late for Jesus.

God can restore those years we have lost to sin when we place our trust in Christ alone. Moreover, with our faith in Christ, we become a new creation of God with every spiritual blessing. Even when we have lost everything, including today, we can still cry out to Jesus! He is always faithful, He is always waiting and He will always save us by God's grace. Until you breathe your last breath, it is never too late for Jesus to change you or your life. Remember our God is a God who restores lives, despite the damage we have done. In addition, as children of God, we must remember to walk closely with the Holy Spirit, in order to perceive His warning and roadblocks meant to prevent destruction. When we begin to fall into sin, God will often put roadblocks in our way as well as send people into our lives to warn us and turn our hearts back to God. It's important we observe these signs when they happen and turn back to God before destruction comes.
