The End of Infidelity is Always Destruction - (Proverbs 5:1-6)

Daily Wisdom
My son, pay attention to my wisdom; lend your ear to my understanding, that you may preserve discretion, and your lips may keep knowledge. For the lips of an immoral woman drip honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil; but in the end she is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword. Her feet go down to death, her steps lay hold of hell. Lest you ponder her path of life, her ways are unstable; you do not know them.

Reading Notes
The Lord has blessed the covenant of marriage and through this covenant man and woman are cleaved together as one flesh, not to be separated by infidelity. God's words here are a warning to us and all generations, that adultery leads to destruction! Infidelity will always be discovered, it cannot be hidden forever. Though the temptation may fool us at first to entice us, we have to remember the only goal of temptation is our eternal destruction. Temptation like sin, will always perform its work in our minds in order to get us to believe the lie. The lie that we will never get caught. The lie that short term pleasure is worth destruction and lastly the lie that fulfilling short term desires and lust are better than a life spent together with a godly spouse.

This fallen world which is influenced by the one the Apostle Paul calls, "the prince of the power of the air" will try to entice us into thinking that fulfilling worldly lust is better than the bond of a lifelong partnership with our spouse based on trust and love for one another. Through Satan's influence, the world would have us believe its ok and its part of life today. Dear follower of Jesus, don't believe this lie! We have to understand the end of infidelity is always destruction. Satan and this world system only want one thing, our destruction along with our eternal separation from God. And they will always entice our desires with temptation in order for us to sin against God. Therefore, we have to remember all sin no matter how small is rebellion against God. Moreover, all sin no matter how small affects our relationship with the Lord.
