Book of Proverbs
Through the Proverbs
Old Testament
Wisdom comes from Living God's Word - (Proverbs 4:10-13)

Daily Wisdom
Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many. I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble. Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; keep her, for she is your life.

Reading Notes
God's word provides us wisdom and guidance for our day to day lives. In addition God through our faith in Christ gives us His Holy Spirit who increases our understanding. Therefore, when we follow His word and His guidance our lives will be better, we will experience more joy and happiness. In addition, through God's guidance we live a life more productive for the kingdom of God. This doesn't mean we won't have trials and tribulations, we know these will come because of the fallen world we live in, and because Jesus Himself told us so. However, it does mean we can limit the trials and tribulations brought on by our own sin and our own foolish actions.

And because we live in a fallen world ruled by the one the Apostle Paul calls, "the prince of the power of the air" who is Satan, God has given us His Holy Spirit who indwells and guides us. He gives us strength for the trials we know will come. And when we follow God's word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, these are the times we can celebrate in the Lord because we are following God's wisdom for our lives. We praise the Lord through our trials, because we as children of God have the understanding that the Lord is sovereign and in control. And in His sovereignty, God can allow trials to touch our lives to show ourselves and others the genuineness of our faith, while showing the world around us the perseverance of the saints.
