The Book of Psalms
Through the Psalms
Old Testament
Rebellion, Destroys Blessings and Leads to Destruction - (Psalm 81:11-16)

Daily Praise
"But My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels." "Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries. The haters of the Lord would pretend submission to Him, but their fate would endure forever. He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you."

Reading Notes
God hates sin, so much so that sin cannot exist in the presence of our Holy God. Even sin, we think, is secret is known by God. One of the bad things about our tongue and our ability to speak is we can use it to justify and cover sin with those around us. But not with God. God doesn't care what we say, God isn't going to listen to our excuses, God is not like mankind, and there is no debating or justifying our sin with God. No one is ever going to sit down with God and have an argument or talk things out. He looks directly at our hearts, He looks at the motivations, feelings and desires that drove our actions and He then judges us. Not only by our actions or the deeds we have done, but on the attitude of our heart that drove those actions. Moreover, we must remember none of the things we do today will be tolerated in God's kingdom.

No one will enter the Lord's millennial reign with sin and wickedness in their hearts. When we think of the one-thousand year reign of Jesus at the end of this age, we cannot think in terms of this world today. This is a time after the Tribulation period, where Satan has been bound for one-thousand years. Believers have returned with Christ in their glorified bodies. And only believers alive at the end of the Tribulation period will enter this kingdom. The world we know today will no longer exist, mankind will not live as they do today. Things the world tells us to strive for today, will have no meaning or existence during the millennial reign of Christ. Therefore, we should not seek after what the world offers, we should instead seek after Jesus. Because it's with Jesus that we will spend eternity, not with this world.
