Old Testament
Do Not Depart from Doing Good - (Proverbs 3:27-32)

Daily Wisdom
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so. Do not say to your neighbor, "go, and come back, and tomorrow I will give it," When you have it with you. Do not devise evil against your neighbor, for he dwells by you for safety's sake. Do not strive with a man without cause, If he has done you no harm. Do not envy the oppressor, and choose none of his ways; for the perverse person is an abomination to the Lord, but His secret counsel is with the upright.

Reading Notes
God calls us to do good and not to do harm, not to behave wickedly; but rather help those in need. To protect those who cannot protect themselves and place the good of others above ourselves. This is very important and something we are quickly losing in our day. In other words, we are not to hurt others because of envy. We are not to hurt others in order that we ourselves may get ahead. We are not to hurt the innocent in order to protect those we care about. And we are not to hurt others just because they are doing better than ourselves. Business is not business in God's eyes when it comes to immoral behavior. That means do not gossip, do not setup stumbling blocks, do not desire to take what belongs to other people, and do not hate others because of their accomplishments which have been gained honestly through hard work.

Moreover, the other side of this is not to admire wicked people because of what they have. Do not try to emulate wicked people because of their status or popularity. Do not try to become friends of the wicked in order to gain something for yourself, or to partake in what they have. Instead, we are to follow God, relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit in our day to day lives! We are to the best of our abilities, to use the time, talents and resources given to us as blessings of God, and use them to help those in need and further the kingdom of God. This is only possible today through the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit who strengthens all those who have placed their faith in Christ. Never forget we represent Jesus to those we meet, we are a representative of the Gospel of Christ to those who are watching us and God not only looks at our actions. But God pays more attention to the motivation and desires behind those actions, and we must remember nothing we say, do or think is hidden from God!
