God Promises His Creation Shows His Glory - (Psalm 19:1)

Bible Promise
The heavens declare My glory and reveal My handiwork.

Bible Verse
The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.

Reading Notes
All of creation speaks of the glory and majesty of God. Though mankind tries to resist this and give God's glory to pagan deities like "mother nature," God is the author of all creation, not mother nature and not evolution. The Bible tells us that through Christ everything that was made was created by and through Him. And that nothing exists apart from what was made by Jesus Himself. The Bible confirms for us, that Jesus is the Author of creation! And because of this, all of creation speaks of a maker. Wherever we look in nature we see the complexity and creativity which point to a sovereign creator God. Our universe is not the product of an impartial random force of the cosmos. Therefore, this promise is important to us, why? Because if God can do this work for the entire universe, how much more can He perform His mighty works on our behalf.

If God can create, control and hold together the entire universe how much more can He care for those who are His children through faith? If our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Author of creation can hold everything together in His power; how much more can His work on our behalf, ensure the salvation of those who place their faith in Him! This is why the apostle Paul tells us in the fourth chapter of his letter to the Philippian church, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." We through the power of God in our lives, can accomplish all God has called us to do. In addition, this promise is important because with the evidence of creation, man is without excuse for not seeking God. What this means for all those who reject Jesus, is that God will hold them accountable. He will hold them accountable because having lived in the presence of His creation, and with this evidence in hand, they rejected Christ and did not seek out the true and living God who created it. Rather, they gave the glory to creation itself, because of their rejection of God.
