 July is a month of simple pleasures. During this month of  scorching heat, making it from the car to the front door without having to dial 911 warrants an Olympic gold medal - or should. In July, there is no better pleasure than sticking your head in the freezer after completing the simple task of bringing in the mail. I am fairly certain that July in South Florida is the reason we have swimming pools, window and patio screens and mosquito spray.
The oppressive heat, humidity and mosquitoes go unnoticed for a brief moment in early July with the excitement of our nation's most joyous birthday celebration - Independence Day! I don't know about you, but my Fourth of July memories each year are about fireworks, children with painted faces dressed in red, white & blue, great friends, cold beer and the aroma of fresh burgers on the grill. And most of all, the freedom that we take for granted each day. Once the celebration is over I hope we will all remember to reflect on how fortunate we are to live in a country where freedom and equality are a way of life. I wish you all a very happy and safe Independence Day.

Day Care Decisions
I am a first-time mom and was expecting to stay at home with my infant daughter for at least one year. Palm Beach Gets all Fired Up!
Looking for the best places to watch 4th of July fireworks? Check out these great displays happening all over town.
Fourth on Flagler
The largest fireworks display in South Florida is happening in our own back yard! Celebrate the 4th of July on West Palm Beach's Waterfront where there will be live entertainment, activities for kids and a 16 minute firework display set to the top music hits from the 80s through today.
Village Park in Wellington
If you're looking for family-friendly 4th of July entertainment, check out the party in Wellington. Village Park celebrates the the 4th of July beginning at 6 pm with games, live music, and food. The celebration ends with Wellington's Fireworks Extravaganza at 9:15 pm.
Abacoa Town Center
Celebrate the 4th of July the old-fashioned way at Abacoa Town Center in Jupiter. Fun for all ages, there will be a parade beginning at 4 pm as well as bounce houses, waterslides, games, food, and baseball. The party ends with fireworks at Roger Dean Stadium at 9 pm.
Village of Royal Palm Beach
Royal Palm will celebrate the 4th of July at New Commons Park with all day activities beginning at 1 pm. The day will feature activities including Kids Fun zone with carnival style rides, slides, games and an amazing fireworks display at 9 pm.
