Dear JABBERS: Did you know that some schools in our community have already begun summer vacation? Summer is upon us, JABBERS. Not officially, of course, but here in South Florida we feel the heat. And I don't mean basketball. While most of us are eagerly counting down the minutes until a summer routine of spur-of-the-moment weekend getaways, lazy days by the pool and impromptu trips to the ice cream store, spontaneity requires excellent planning!

For those of us who spend each day trying to fine tune the balancing act of having  both a productive and relaxing summer, our natural instinct is to thrust into overdrive and try to do it all. It's not easy, but with each other's help, it's doable. That's what JustAskBoo is here to do - help make your lives easier in any way possible. Can our JABBERS save you a few minutes by finding you a great bartender for your summer soiree? JAB it. Looking for a fun college student to help out with the kids this summer? JAB it. What about that wedding you're planning next June? From florists to bands to photogs, our JABBERS are the best recommenders around.

As summer approaches, I hope we can help make yours a fun, relaxing and memorable one.

Happy summer and Happy JABBING!

-Boo

The Long and Short of It
From Rebecca Hidalgo:  REPLY
I am attending a black-tie wedding in New York in August and was wondering if it is mandatory to wear a floor-length gown. I have a beautiful black cocktail dress that I am contemplating wearing but I am not sure if it is appropriate. I would love to hear your opinions. Thanks!

Decode the Dress Code
From Team JAB

We know not to wear white tie and tails to a "Cocktail Attire Recommended" wedding. But what exactly is "Snappy Casual?" JABBERS, we want to know about the most unusual dress codes you've come across over years of semi-formals, graduation parties, bar mitzvahs, weddings and business events ... and tell us what you wore and send a photo! Email us HERE, and your response might be featured in an upcoming newsletter!

Our Loss Could be Your Gain
From Tiffany Christoffers:  REPLY
We have the most amazing nanny who has been a part of our family for eight years. Starting in August, our kids will be in school full time so we will no longer need her from 9:00 am-1:00 pm each day. She lives in Abacoa and would prefer to stay in the Jupiter/Northern Palm Beach County area. If you or someone you know, could use a part-time nanny, please email me for additional information. Thanks!

On Key

Making a Difference, One Cup at a Time

From Team JAB

All around the country, kids and lemonade are synonymous with summer. Hosting a lemonade stand with your child is not only a fun activity, but it's also a great opportunity for them to make a difference in the battle against childhood cancer. June 7, 8 and 9 are National Lemonade Days, an annual event that raises over $1 million dollars each year for childhood cancer research. Sponsored by Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), people all over the country are encouraged to hold lemonade stands to raise money to help our littlest heroes like Bella Rodriguez-Torres. If you plan on hosting a lemonade stand, email us HERE and we'll let JABBERS know about it in Friday's newsletter.

To help get you started, here is a lemonade recipe from Miami North Editor, Chae Haile.

Ingredients

½ cups water
½ cups sugar
12 lemons, halved and squeezed
2 cups lemon-lime soda
Cold water
Ice
1 lemon, sliced
Mint sprigs

Directions
Prepare a simple syrup by mixing water and sugar together and bringing to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool.

Cut lemons in half and squeeze juice into a bowl, straining seeds. In a gallon pitcher, mix lemon juice, simple syrup and soda. Add enough cold water and ice to fill the pitcher completely. Garnish with lemon slices and mint. Enjoy!

What's the Plan?

From Anonymous:  REPLY
I am currently undergoing fertility treatment and hope to become pregnant very soon. My health insurance does not cover maternity so I need to find a new plan quickly. Do you know of any plans/providers that offer maternity coverage to a single woman? Or, if there is an insurance broker you can recommend, please contact me. Your replies are appreciated. Thank you!

Road Dog
From Krista Volk:  REPLY
We are an active-duty Navy family and are trying to find a way to get our lab to Fresno, California where we will be relocating at the end of July. We do not want to fly him and have been unable to find a shipping company we feel comfortable with. If you have any suggestions or if you or someone you know is planning a road trip to the West Coast and wouldn't mind a four-legged companion, please contact me. Thanks!
