In ten days, Palm Beach County Schools will close their doors for summer. For many, these next several weeks will mean a welcome break from schedules, carpools, and deadlines. For others, it means longer days, perfect for spending with family and friends poolside, frequent trips to the beach and more free time to experience and enjoy Florida like a tourist. With more relaxed schedules on the horizon, summer is the perfect time to be spontaneous. Whether you are looking for quick day trip or a weekend getaway, Florida is full of great tourist destinations for visitors and residents alike. The Accidental Tourist

Saint Lucie

Visit the Port St. Lucie Botanical Gardens and Heathcote Botanical Gardens in Fort Pierce which features the largest public display of tropical bonsai trees in the United States. Learn about the abundant marine life in the world famous Indian River Lagoon that is home to over 4,000 species of plants and animals. Club Med Sandpiper Bay is a perfect destination for active families. Family members of all ages can train side-by-side under world-class instructors at Club Med Academies for Tennis and Golf. And if you're feeling really adventurous, there's even a flying trapeze and circus school!

 

Orlando 

Cool off from the Florida heat surrounded by exotic fish and Commerson Dolphins at Aquatica Waterpark where the family can enjoy a day of water slides and splash rides.
