Dear JABBERS: My mother is Southern. So naturally, I'm big on thank you notes.  I want to thank each of you, JABBERS, for the ongoing contributions that you have made to JustAskBoo. Thank you for the photos of South Florida you have sent us for our Facebook and Instagram pages (please keep them coming!), the stories you have told us for our new Six Degrees of JAB feature, and all the resources you have shared with one another. JAB started out as an email blast five years ago. It evolved into a resource-sharing e-newsletter, and we have since grown into one of South Florida's leading digital publications, and a can't-live-without resource for tens of thousands of loyal JABBERS.

You might have read in the February 24 Miami Herald Business Monday section that we have been working on our second round of investment funding. I am proud to report that we have exceeded our goal! And with this, I would like to extend a special thanks to our angel investors.

With this new round of capital, we will enhance our technology and our website to make JABBING even easier and more fun. We even plan to bring you a JAB app, which will allow you to post and respond on our newsletters, place classified ads and access the Treasure Chest. We will also host some fun parties and events so that we can all JAB together in person. We assure you that we will work hard to maintain the integrity of JAB, so that you can continue to count on us for reliability and quality control. And there is a very simple way that you can help us improve it even more ... spread the word to your friends who are not yet JABBERS. They can sign up HERE

Stay tuned for these exciting changes. They are all designed to make JABBING even better for you!

Thank you again and Happy JABBING!

Losing It
From Anonymous:  REPLY
Despite the fact that I exercise on a regular basis, I have stubborn areas of fat that I can't get rid of. After many failed attempts at losing weight through dieting, I am considering using the HCG drops. If you have experience with this, I would love to hear from you. Thank you!

Ready, Set, Read!
From Team JAB
Today we celebrate International Children's Book Day. This day, which was established to help inspire young readers to develop a passion for books, is celebrated on April 2 because it is the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, the author of famous children's stories like The Ugly Duckling and The Little Mermaid. For a list of the Notable Children's Books for 2013 selected by Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC), click HERE. Happy Birthday, Hans and Happy Reading, Junior JABBERS!

Sealed With A Kiss
From Megan Kraeger:  REPLY
I feel guilty that I did not seal my eight-year-old son's teeth and now he has cavities in two of his permanent teeth! My dentist is telling me I should seal the rest of them as well as all of my three-year-old's baby teeth. I would love your opinions on whether you did this with your kids and if it guaranteed that they did not develop cavities. Thank you!

Sharing Is Caring
From Anonymous
I would like to publicly thank every single JABBER who responded to my post a few weeks ago about the stress my child's behavior was causing on the rest of our family. Not only did I receive recommendations for child psychologists and play therapists but I received advice from parents who had experienced the same issue. I am happy to report that I tried the advice of one particular JABBER and can already see a tremendous difference. It is wonderful to have a resource like JAB where people willingly share their personal stories and experiences with one another without judgment. Thanks again for your help!

Bahama Bound
From Lissa Dorsey:  REPLY
We are planning a trip to Atlantis this summer with our three children ages nine, seven and four. There seem to be so many choices on where to stay. I would love your opinion on which of the three towers is the most family-friendly as well as which activities you felt were the most worthwhile for kids. I look forward to hearing from you.

Chocolate Bunnies And Jelly Beans And Peeps, Oh My!

From Team JAB

Did a visit from the Easter Bunny leave you with more candy than you know what to do with? Are you already feeling guilty about your plans to toss it all while the kids are away at school? Good news ... recycling and reusing applies to Easter candy too! Here's a recipe that the kids will love and that will clear the house of all that leftover candy. It's a win-win for everbody. Enjoy!

Ingredients

Peeps

Graham crackers

Milk chocolate broken into pieces

Jelly Beans

Directions

Turn the broiler on high. On a baking sheet lay out the graham cracker squares. Top with chocolate pieces and then place a Peep on top of the chocolate. Put the baking sheet under the broiler for approximately two minutes or until the tops of the Peeps start to brown and the Peeps are nice and puffy. Remove from the oven and allow to sit for a minute or two. Place two jelly beans inside peeps for eyes.
