Constitution Day Is September 17
Find resources posted on the Foundation's website

Senator Robert Byrd is credited with proposing the 2004 legislation that created the annual commemoration, which is mandatory for schools that receive federal funding.  Each year, the Foundation prepares a list of classroom resources replete with lessons plans, websites, games, and more ideas for observing the date of the 1787 signing of the Constitution.

You may wish to note that September 17 falls on a Saturday this year, so you will want to plan your activities accordingly.

The Mock Trial Case Committee has just finished writing an exciting original problem about a criminal matter.  The case is now posted on the Foundation's website.

Registration fees to participate in the Judge Lyle Strom High School Mock Trial Program remain at only $35.00 per team.  These fees are used to help defray travel costs of the State Championship team that will represent Nebraska in the National High School Mock Trial Championship in Hartford, Connecticut, May 11-13, 2017.  This year, the State Championship will be in Lincoln on Dec. 6 and 7.

In 2015, the team from Omaha's Duchesne Academy won the National Championship.  In 2016, the Duchesne team was the national runner-up. Skutt Catholic High School represented Nebraska at nationals for six seasons and in 2014, took third place.  Check the Foundation's website for a complete listing of Nebraska teams that have competed in nationals.
