Boulder Pridefest 10 Year Anniversary! Sept 15

Greetings!
 Out Boulder is honored to be hosting its 10th Anniversary of Boulder Pridefest on September 15! We're very excited about this year's progress for the LGBTQ community in Colorado. With the passing of Civil Unions in Colorado and our 10 year Anniversary we're anticipating a record level of participation this year. People will literally be 'coming OUT' to Pridefest to CELEBRATE! We're also expecting an increase in participation from the whole of Boulder County to celebrate the year's victories and celebrate our 19 year history of fighting for equality in the Boulder community.
We are seeking committed corporate partners and vendors for this event, to help us promote this beautiful celebration and bring the community together. If you, your work, or your business are interested in partnering with Boulder Pridefest we would love to talk to you.

COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Ani DiFranco - Oct 13

 I remember the first time I saw Ani DiFranco. It was more years ago than I quite believe at an outdoor amphitheater outside of Salt Lake City. If you haven't seen her perform, you are in for a treat. Maven Productions is proud to announce that Ani DiFranco is coming back to Boulder on October 13 at the Boulder Theater. As a special offer for the Out Boulder community, you can get your tickets HERE starting June 4, 2013. To access the pre-sale, enter the code "whichside".
Tickets will be on sale to the general public starting June 7, 10am. The show will be at 8 pm and is a an all ages show with reserved seats.

We won't have a regular Monday class on Memorial Day, but you are invited for our future Monday class!
Join Out Boulder's Health and Wellness Program for our weekly Yoga class! On Mondays 6:30-8:00 pm our wonderful instructor Ketul Arnold will lead Rasa Yoga atFirst Congregational Church, 1128 Pine Street, Boulder. This class is open to all levels. Bring your mat, towel, and water for a practice of health for body, mind, spirit, and any thing else that needs to come with you. The class is free, but donations are graciously accepted and will be split between Out Boulder and First Congregational for use their space. More info

LGBTIQ Family Survey - Provide Feedback!

Boulder County Allies for Inclusion (BCAFI) would like to hear your thoughts about the needs of LGBTIQ-headed families like yours, including the types of resources and services you'd like to see available in our county.
By completing the brief survey, you will help provide valuable information about the needs in our community. Your privacy is very important to us. The survey is confidential; your answers will be combined with others, and will never be linked with you personally.
Please complete the survey by Friday, May 31, 2013. It should take about 15 minutes to complete. Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you may know who would be willing to participate.
**We understand that family is created in many ways. For the purpose of this survey, families include LGBTQ-identified people in partnerships with or without children and any single LGBTIQ-identified people raising children.

Division of Insurance Workshop with One Colorado - June 20

Come learn and discuss health reform and how it will impact Transgender Coloradans
State and federal health law (Obamacare) is drastically changing Colorado's health care systems right now. These laws include protections and opportunities for transgender Coloradans to get the health care they need. Come learn about these health law changes, share your story and discuss how we can advocate for better health care for transgender Coloradans! Our presenter/facilitator will be Ashley Wheeland, Health Policy Director for One Colorado. More info on the event
In an important victory for the health of all Coloradans, the Colorado Division of Insurance released a bulletin on March 19, 2013, stating that discrimination in health coverage based on sexual orientation - defined as heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality or transgender status - is prohibited in Colorado.
