COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Vagina Monologues to Raise Money for the Klein Frank Foundation
|
|---|
This year's Boulder performances of the Vagina Monologues, April 25-27 at the Nomad Theater, will benefit the Klein Frank Foundation.
How did the Klein Frank Foundation begin? Beth Klein witnessed children being sold and knew that something had to be done. In response, she served on international anti-slavery boards, helped write laws for nations and states for free, and she assisted other foundations to create national strategies and initiatives. She brings a wealth of knowledge about the world-wide response to the issue of human trafficking - both successes and failures.
Carrie Frank began her professional life as a social worker. Armed with a masters degree, she worked with children and teens who had been abused by friends, relatives and strangers in New York and Colorado. She brings critical expertise in boots on the ground practices. Carrie and Beth met in 1986 at the University of Denver College of law. After becoming lawyers, they sucessfully worked for decades as trial attorneys helping critically injured people rebuild their lives. Together, they bring a vast knowledge of law, courtroom skills, and teaching ability to the issue - but they know that in order to solve this issue, a broad skill and commitment base is necessary.
