"'Tis the last rose of summer,
Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone."
Thomas Moore, The Last Rose of Summer, 1830

We are not ready to let go of summer just yet.  Actually, this is THE best time of year in Maine. The crowds have thinned out and busy traffic is slowly subsiding.  We're enjoying short excursions and fall sailing.  There is just a slight redness beginning in the maple leaves but we will pretend it is not happening just yet!

Jean ready for the trip to Newport with Pisces in tow

We are venturing to the Newport International Boat Show in Rhode Island where we will be exhibiting the Pisces 21 Daysailer 'Dagny' graciously loaned to us by her owners.   In addition to our Pisces exhibit we will, once again, have a booth at the Brokerage Show where you can meet with Dave to discuss available brokerage listings in detail. We hope that you have a chance to visit as it looks like it is going to be a great show and beautiful weather.

Cheers,

Jean Beaulieu
Pisces 21 Updates

We wish to congratulate the owners of the Pisces, 'Irie' who took delivery of their boat in early August.  They will be sailing on Sebago Lake, Maine. Her quiet electric drive will be in perfect harmony with the lake at the end of the evening sails.

A fall morning pick up with Pisces in tow

We have begun decommissioning the Pisces which will be in our care over the winter months. Having so many different Pisces in one place is an excellent opportunity to compare various boats and options available.

If you are considering a Pisces, New or Used  please contact Jean to arrange a visit and sail.
Brokerage Update

We will be at the Newport, RI  Brokerage Show at the Newport Shipyard beginning Thursday September 17 through Sunday September 20th.  It is always so nice to meet face to face and discuss boats. Dave will be available throughout the show if you'd like to stop by to visit.

Here are two recent listings we will be representing:

The Pisces 21 Daysailer, 'Aurora' is inside at our yard and ready for viewing.  She has been professionally varnished, commissioned and ready to launch or deliver on short notice.  Some of her options include teak decks, furling and a diesel auxiliary.  She is an exceptional yacht in like new condition.  More information and photos may be seen on the detailed listing.

'Wings of Grace' is a beautiful custom ketch designed by CW Paine and built by the renown boat builders of French and Webb in Belfast, Maine.   Every detail is exquisite and, in addition to her classical design she has a powerful easy to handle ketch rig. Faux painted carbon fiber masts along with Antal deck hardware connect the traditional look with the performance and sail handling of a modern yacht. The attention to detail in the design, construction, fittings and finish must be seen to be fully appreciated (Photos by Billy Black). Please see the detailed listing for more information.

Fall is a great time to plan for the coming winter months in warmer climes or leisurely plan for next Spring. We are constantly updating our listings with additions, photos and price changes. Please see our Current Brokerage Listings to peruse our diverse inventory of boats.

Service News

We recently celebrated a milestone for Chris Guyette on his tenth anniversary at Classic Boat Shop!

Chris is a service technician who you may or may not see throughout the season but if your boat has come through the yard there is a very good chance that he has worked on it. Some of Chris' many responsibilities include rigging, varnishing, commissioning and decommissioning of service boats. He has been involved in deliveries and pick ups from owner's moorings as well as a sailing lesson or two!

He is always there when needed to get the job done.  Rain or shine, very early and after hours, depending on the tides.

From all of us, a grateful thank you to Chris for his years of hard work and dedication!

Our fall season is well underway and hopefully there is still time for you to enjoy this seasonably warm weather before your boat is tucked away.   If you would like to discuss winter storage or projects please contact Dave.

We hope that  you have enjoyed the newsletter and please

if you would like to share it with them.

Best wishes and thank you for making our lives so interesting,
Jean and The Crew at Classic Boat Shop
