Greetings!
This week we had two projects completed. Both located in Pella. Pella Moving project: A team of 9 people helped an elderly couple move into their new home on Friday, November 16th. It only took 3.5 hours...many hands makes light work. The couple was grateful for the assistance! Thanks to the Gyolai family(Jamie, Sarah, Bryn, Myka and Shea), Mike Buchheit, Kyle Nelson, Niki Hively and Bruce Vanderwahl for their assistance! Seeds 4 Needs Garden: ACTS is thankful for the assistance we received in the garden from a group of Central College students. The Iowa Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA coordinator at Central College worked to organize a non-academic service project for Central students. A group of 12 students served for 3.5 hours on Saturday, November 17th. On that beautiful fall day they finished the garden fence, prepped the garden for winter, turned the compost pile and built a wall around the pumpkin patch. A big THANK YOU to this group of students. This project was led by Joel Bennett.
We wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving! As we give thanks this weekend .... we are thankful for all the volunteers who have served this year and all those who support the ACTS Ministry. The volunteers and supporters of ACTS make this organization!
Blessings,
Reminder... we would appreciate any ACTS project pictures you have. Please send them to Breanne Patel at bpatel@actsofiowa.org when projects are completed. Thank you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. ~ Colossians 3:23
The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than this. ~Mark 12:31
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- One other note: When contacting us regarding scheduling a project, please provide at least 48 hours notice. This allows us to get things arranged and work things into the schedule. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- To make things a bit easier to read, I have highlighted in yellow any projects scheduled for this week. I hope this makes it easier to determine which projects may need immediate help. |
