Collaborative breakfast forum on Tuesday explores
"Building & Perpetuating an Ethical Corporate Culture"

March is National Ethics Awareness Month. Join the conversation at "Building Businesses of Character: a series of dialogues presented by the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce and Partners for Community & Character."

Part I, "Creating and Perpetuating an Ethical Corporate Culture," will be presented Tuesday, March 25, as a breakfast dialogue presented by the Chamber and PCC in partnership with Leadership Worthington.

The buffet breakfast and forum will be held at J. Liu Restaurant & Bar, 6880 N. High St., Worthington, from 8 - 9:30 a.m.

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is the meeting sponsor.

National Ethics Awareness Month is an ideal time to develop a thoughtful strategy for strengthening the ethical culture of your business or organization, or to analyze your current strategies.  The public is encouraged to join the dialogue for a stimulating discussion of ethics in the corporate cultures of businesses large and small - and a look at how business leaders can carry on the legacies of ethical corporate cultures through mentoring.

The Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce and Partners for Community & Character will present their collaborative "Business of Character Award" to a local, Chamber-member business during the event.

The program will include the following:

8 a.m. to 8:20 a.m.: Check in, network and mingle, while enjoying a breakfast buffet served by J. Liu Restaurant & Bar.

8:20 a.m. to 9 a.m.: Building an ethical corporate culture for business of all sizes and passing it along to the next generation

Worthington Industries logo Ethical corporate culture in larger businesses: Presenter Tim Jameson will outline the model of Worthington Industries, a longtime exemplar of an ethical and principled corporate culture, including the guiding "Worthington Philosophy," based on the Golden Rule, that honors the legacy of the late John H. McConnell, founder. Worthington Industries is a Gold Sustaining Member of the Chamber.

Ethical corporate culture in medium-sized businesses: Explore the "DewMore" corporate culture of cause-related marketing and community service that is served up the popular pizza and family restaurant firm, Dewey's Pizza. The presenter is Tom Sheehan, general manager of Dewey's Pizza in Worthington.

Perpetuating ethical corporate cultures: mentoring for the next generation of employees: How can we ensure that the ethical principles and strategies in place in today's business cultures will be carried over to tomorrow's workforce? Terrie Huston, principal consultant and owner of Intergenerational Communication Solutions, will lead a discussion on mentoring.

Kathryn Paugh, executive director of the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, will announce the latest winner of the Business of Character Award during this time and award the plaque in conjunction with Holly Richard of Partners for Community & Character.

9 to 9:30 a.m.: Presenters will respond to audience questions. Questions may be submitted in advance, if desired, by emailing connect@worthingtonchamber.org
