Join the Women's Business Network of the Chamber in observing National Heart Health Month (and National Dental Month) on Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at J. Liu Restaurant & Bar, 6880 N. High St.
Network with other business women, make announcements about your company (at a $5 fee to benefit our scholarship fund), and learn about a timely health topic:
"Say Ahhhhh! The Healthy Heart/Healthy Mouth Connection" explores the link between oral health and heart disease, stroke, diabetes and other major diseases.
The presenter is Barbara McClatchie, D.D.S., an oral systemic health expert and fellow Chamber member.
A graduate of the Pankey Institute and a dentist experienced in mouth restoration, Dr. McClatchie has focused her practice in recent years on "complete dentistry" and partnering with physicians to improve the overall health of patients.
She will review current research linking cardiovascular disease (the No. 1 killer in the United States) and periodontal disease with many common risk factors. She will explain how oral DNA testing can help identify and direct treatment for oral health problems that cause disease.
Optional oral DNA testing will be available following the luncheon (with payment made directly to Dr. McClatchie's office for that service.)
Luncheon/presentation cost: $22/Chamber members; $27/non-members (guest fee must be pre-paid at time of registration).
Support our scholarship fund by making announcements ($5/member; $10/guest) and participating in door prize drawings ($1/member/guest).
