Group rating enrollment for workers' comp ends Feb. 28
| |
Has your organization enrolled yet for a savings on workers' compensation premiums available to chamber members?
If your organization is eligible to participate in a Group Rating program and has not submitted your enrollment documentation to our administrator, CompManagement, please act now; the deadline is approaching.
The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation (BWC) filing deadline for private employers participating in group rating is Feb. 28. To enable our program administrator, CompManagement Inc., to file all enrollment information with BWC by the deadline, we request that your enrollment materials be received by their office on or before Feb. 21.
Enrollment occurs only once a year, so don't miss your opportunity to save up to 53 percent (maximum discount allowed by BWC) off your annual workers' compensation premium.
If your organization was not eligible for group rating for the 2014 policy year, there are other options and discounts available. We strongly encourage you to explore programs such as group retrospective rating, EM cap, Destination Excellence -- and to learn how to "stack" discounts together, working with a representative at CompManagement. Your organization has an opportunity to realize savings on safety, administrative and cost containment actions that may already be in place.
To discuss your options or review your enrollment materials, please contact Rejeana Woolum-Napier from CompManagement at (614) 359-2403.

| SOHO explores "Taking Sales Savvy to the Next Level" | |
The Chamber's SOHO (Small Office/Home Office) Group invites you to its monthly meeting
on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 11:30 to 1 p.m.
at the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, 25 W. New England Ave., Suite 100, Worthington 43085
The speaker will be Russ Kromminga, Lake Business Products (chair-elect, Chamber board of trustees), who will lead a discussion on "Taking Your Sales Savvy to the Next Level."*
* Those who attended the November 2013 SOHO meeting to hear Russ Kromminga's presentation "Becoming Sales Savvy" will find this session an excellent follow-up. However, it is not necessary to have attended that session to benefit from this one.
If you work in a home office or "wear all the hats" at a small office with five or fewer employees, the Chamber's Small Office/Home Office (SOHO) subgroup is for you.
At each monthly meeting, members exchange best practices and business leads and learn from experts about topics that affect small business owners and home-based businesses, including legal, tax, organizational, IT and marketing/promotion issues. The 2013-2014 subgroup chair for SOHO is Mark Vaas, independent insurance broker. Diane Kehler, Cartridge World Dublin, will assume the role of chair in April 2014.
Business and Associate Members of the Chamber are eligible to join SOHO. SOHO members pay a subgroup participation fee of $30 per year, in addition to their regular Chamber dues. A prospective SOHO member may attend the meeting free of charge for a one-month period and then may choose sign up for the group with the $30 annual fee.
Registration is REQUIRED. To register, click on the "Register Now' link on the online Calendar of Events and follow the prompts. Select the member category if you are already a paid member of SOHO; the "Join SOHO and attend" category if you are joining the group for the coming year and attending this event; or the "Non-member/Guest" fee to attend this meeting free of charge as a prospective member (you may attend once as a guest). Be sure to click "submit" when completed.
Call 888-3040 for further details or assistance in registering.
