As many of our member companies are budgeting and scheduling for 2014 activities, it's also time to complete our Chamber's calendar of Business After Hours, Business Before Hours, lunches, QuickConnect sessions, Lunch and Learns, and subgroup events for the coming year.

Bringing Chamber members and guests to your office is the prime opportunity for business promotion, allowing them to see, first hand, your products and services, to learn about your brand and meet key staff at your business. Hosting Business After Hours events and Business Before Hours events is open to any Chamber-member business that has not hosted a BAH or BBH within the past two years. Contact Max Good for a contract describing the opportunities and responsibilities for an after-hours or before-hours host. 

The Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce and The Shops at Worthington Place invite you to the second annual Healthy New Year, Worthington! event, a public Health & Fitness Expo that will ring in the new year on a healthy note for the entire community. OhioHealth is the presenting event sponsor, and the Shops at Worthington Place is the host sponsor.

The event is planned for Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, from noon to 6 p.m. at The Shops at Worthington Place, 7227 N. High St.  

Attendees at the event can "shop" for strategies and information that will promote a healthier lifestyle as you shop the mall merchants -- many of whom will have activities, discounts or door prizes related to the event.

The event will be promoted communitywide in newspapers, radio PSAs, through posters, flyers, social media, public signage, Chamber and mall communications, and through other means to attract hundreds of visitors who will attend, free of charge, to take advantage of screenings and informational displays.

This event offers an excellent opportunity for outreach to the community and promotion of health care, wellness and fitness-related services offered by your company.

Among other features, the Expo will include:

• health and fitness exhibits and giveaways from approximately 50 exhibitors, including many Chamber-member businesses in the health care field.
• health screenings from health care providers.   
• exhibits sharing resources from public-sector health, safety and fitness resources.
• related activities and promotions at mall merchants, healthy lunch promotions at mall.
• door prize drawings for Expo participants who visit a required amount of health exhibits and mall merchants.
• networking opportunities for business professionals.

How to be included as an exhibitor in the Health & Fitness Expo

Exhibitors whose businesses focus primarily on physical or behavioral health may register on a first-come, first-served basis, by calling 888-3040.  

Your cost is the exhibit booth fee of $60 (Chamber Members) and $80 (Non-Chamber Members). Optional electricity is available at $10/space. Please bring your own extension cord (25-ft. recommended) and reserve electricity in advance.

Included in Your Fee: One 6-foot table and up to two chairs if desired (sponsors receive two 6-foot tables); complimentary bottled water; publicity and promotion.  To increase promotion and exposure for your business, please also consider donating a service or item to event raffles.

Registration deadline for exhibitors: Dec. 26, 2014 (to be included in publicity; later exhibit placements through Jan. 1 may be made if space is still available).

Space limitations may occur, and a waiting list may be formed, for multiple exhibitors in the same category.  Register and pre-pay as soon as possible to ensure a spot in the event.
