REGISTER NOW! Lunch and Learn explores using LinkedIn to maximize your business connections

You have a LinkedIn account ... now what? If this is a question you have asked yourself, then join other Chamber members at a networking luncheon workshop where you can learn some excellent tips and techniques from a well-known LinkedIn expert, Jeff Young.
 | | Jeff Young | Jeff is an education and performance development executive with 20+ years of progressive experience in program design and delivery, and 25+ years of engagement and project management experience.
Whether you are a novice at using LinkedIn or a frequent user, you'll find something of interest and value in the discussion, while networking with others and enjoying a delicious lunch.
You'll have the opportunity to ask "how-to" questions and peek "under the hood" of LinkedIn to get an overview of its basic functionality. You will also learn what you can do with LinkedIn from a personal or business perspective. Specifically, you will learn how to move beyond collecting contacts to using LinkedIn to build your network -- maximizing your professional networking and/or career transition efforts.
Check-in and networking will begin at 11:30, and the meal and program will begin promptly at noon, concluding at 1:15 p.m.

New to the Chamber? Join us for an orientation Oct. 24
| Are you new to the Chamber? Take the opportunity to meet other new members and learn about Chamber programs and services at a quarterly orientation meeting, designed to help you get the most from your membership and jump-start your involvement.
For our next orientation, join us on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 8:15 to 10 a.m. at AAA Ohio Auto Club, 90 E. Wilson Bridge Road.
New members and new contacts at current member businesses are encouraged to attend. Attendees have the opportunity to promote their businesses while learning about Chamber initiatives, programs and services to help them grow their businesses. Use of Chamber website features, advertising and promotional opportunities, and ways to get involved are among the topics. You'll also learn about the Chamber's subgroups, the Women's Business Network, Young Professionals of Worthington, the Small Office/Home Office group, and the Impact Tips and New Connections referral groups.
A gift bag of giveaways and coupons from Chamber-member businesses will be provided to each attendee.

Veterans Day After Hours event introduces elected officials, salutes public servants
| Ethan Allen, 6767 N. High St., invites Chamber members and guests to a Business After Hours (BAH) on Monday, Nov. 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Join other Chamber members at the Business After Hours (BAH) to say "thanks" to elected officials and public servants serving local and regional government. Representatives of local government will be introduced, and you will have the opportunity to discuss with them the pressing issues that most concern you and your business.
Enjoy great networking, food, beverages and door prizes as you recognize elected officials for their service. Pre-register by noon on Monday, Nov. 11, to be eligible for door prizes and receive a preprinted name tag. Register online on the Chamber's calendar of events, or by calling (614) 888-3040.
Business After Hours (BAH) events are designed to give Worthington Chamber members the opportunity to network with other members in an informal setting (where they may make contacts different from those at a Business After Hours) and to learn more about Chamber member businesses. Attendance at BAH events is considered a privilege of membership.
Members may attend this event free of charge. Guests (spouses, friends, and referrals who are considering membership) are welcome at $20 per person. The guest fee is credited toward membership dues to those who join the organization. The fee is payable in advance or at the door by credit card, check or cash. |

The Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce invites the public and Chamber members to "Discover Cuba."
Join other members of the Chamber and the Worthington community from Jan. 17-24, 2014, on a Chamber-sponsored, guided tour of Cuba.
Through the unusual travel opportunity, Chamber and community members can gain a new perspective on Cuba's unique history, cuisine and culture through people-to-people cultural interactions and exchanges. Travelers will enjoy learning about Cuba's storied history from the Museum of the Revolution to Ernest Hemingway's home.
They will have opportunities to interact with local residents and businesses, visiting the home and studio of a famous artist as well as the San Jose Craft Market, where local artisans showcase their goods. Travelers also will visit the majestic countryside of the Vinales valley, where they will tour a cigar factory and tobacco farm.

The tour price is $3,699 per person (double occupancy) and includes round-trip airfare from Miami, first-class hotel accommodations, 16 meals, professional tour escort, baggage handling, Cuban travel visa, Cuban medical insurance, sightseeing and admission to all attractions per itinerary.
