Great American Summer Cookout lures guests to July 11 BAH at Buckeye Vision

Buckeye Vision & Aesthetic Center, 200 W. Wilson Bridge Road, invites Chamber members and guests to a Business After Hours (BAH) on Thursday, July 11, 2013, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
 As a BAH guest, you'll enjoy a star-spangled Great American Cookout with mini sliders and other picnic fare from Catering by Design. You can learn more about Lasik surgery for vision correction, as well as Botox and other aesthetic procedures, while networking and enjoying the hospitality of Buckeye Vision. Meet "Mr. Buckeye" and have your photo taken! Wear red, white and blue, or any of the three patriotic colors, to be included in an additional door prize. Door prizes include men's and women's nonprescription sunglasses, prescription lenses for an existing eyeglass frame, and a free Botox treatment. Pre-register by noon on June 11 to be eligible for door prizes and receive a preprinted name tag. Business After Hours (BAH) events are designed to give Worthington Chamber members the opportunity to network with other members in an informal setting (where they may make contacts different from those at a Business After Hours) and to learn more about Chamber member businesses. Attendance at BAH events is considered a privilege of membership.
Members may attend this event free of charge. Guests (spouses, friends, and referrals who are considering membership) are welcome at $20 per person. The guest fee is credited toward membership dues to those who join the organization. The fee is payable in advance or at the door by credit card, check or cash.

A TASTE OF WORTHINGTON 2013
Great tastes and family fun await at A Taste of Worthington, the summer food and family fun festival presented by the Chamber, on Friday, July 19, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. in the parking area at OfficeScape Corporate Center, 350 W. Wilson Bridge Road.

Communicate without conflict to all ages with tips from Women's Business speaker
|  Join the Women's Business Network of the Chamber for the group's next luncheon on Wednesday, July 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at Courtyard by Marriott on Vantage Drive in the Crosswoods area. July's topic is: "Understanding Generational Differences in Language, Perceptions, and Values."  Terrie Huston, owner of Intergenerational Communication Solutions, is the featured speaker. A new Chamber member, Terrie is the principal consultant and owner of Intergenerational Communication Solutions. In addition to facilitating training and leading workshops on generational communications and nonprofit board service, Terrie assists small to mid-size nonprofit organizations with issues impacting organizational effectiveness and growth. Services include analysis and recommendations in the areas of board and leadership development, process improvement, managing change and internal/external communications. Cost: $20/Chamber members; $30/non-members. Support our scholarship fund by making announcements ($5/member; $10/guest) and participating in door prize drawings ($1/member/guest).

New to the Worthington Chamber?
Join us for an orientation Aug. 8
| Are you new to the Chamber? Take the opportunity to meet other new members and learn about Chamber programs and services at a quarterly orientation meeting, designed to help you get the most from your membership and jump-start your involvement.
For our next orientation, join us on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 8:15 to 10 a.m. at AAA Ohio Auto Club, 90 E. Wilson Bridge Road.
New members and new contacts at current member businesses are encouraged to attend. Attendees have the opportunity to promote their businesses while learning about Chamber initiatives, programs and services to help them grow their businesses. Use of Chamber website features, advertising and promotional opportunities, and ways to get involved are among the topics. You'll also learn about the Chamber's subgroups, the Women's Business Network, Young Professionals of Worthington, the Small Office/Home Office group, and the Impact Tips and New Connections referral groups.
A gift bag of giveaways and coupons from Chamber-member businesses will be provided to each attendee.
