The Women's Business Network will host author/business executive Beth Thomas on May 14 at J. Liu.
Beth will present strategies from her book, Powered by Happy: How to Get and Stay Happy at Work (Boost Performance, Increase Success, and Transform Your Workday), which features upbeat coaching, practical advice and proven techniques. It has been called a "step-by-step, tip-by-tip strategy for figuring out what gives us joy and how to create an environment in which we can find it-all day, every day, in any situation, no matter what challenges we face."
As executive vice president/managing director of consulting services for Sequent, Beth is responsible for the overall success of the consulting practice. Sequent provides customized solutions from experienced practitioners in all facets of human resources, information
technology and business process outsourcing.

Beth has 25 years of experience helping organizations through major transformations, such as mergers and acquisitions and organizational change. Prior to joining Sequent, Beth was the senior vice president and head of retail training development and planning at JP Morgan Chase. Before that, she created and managed the Retailer's Enterprise Learning Center and the Service Management Practice at Limited Brands.
Beth is active as a board member and volunteer for numerous community and charitable organizations. She is a frequent national speaker, and her professional work has been recognized with national awards and in several national-circulating magazines and newsletters.
