WES Student Conference
This past week, nearly 120 students from 23 universities attended our 8th annual Student Conference. These students represent all major sub-disciplines of engineering including electrical, chemical, mechanical, product design, aerospace, environmental and civil engineering. The theme this year was 'Developing Professional Engineering Competencies', which the students gained through a selection of CPD sessions. Additionally, they were inspired by guest speakers discussing a range of topics, including technical leadership, role models and confidence. A highlight of the event was the banquet dinner, which provided an excellent opportunity for the students to network with the sponsors, as well as laugh their way through a very entertaining after-dinner talk by Rhys Morgan, Director of Engineering and Education at the Royal Academy of Engineering. A very special thank you to our sponsors: BAE Systems, BP, Finning UK & Ireland, FM Global, Instron, Leonardo MW, Mars Petcare UK and Proctor & Gamble.
More to follow on the Student Conference in next month's newsletter... |
