ART21 Partners with ArtPrize |
On June 17, ART21 announced a partnership with ArtPrize 2014, the public art competition in Grand Rapids, Michigan now entering its sixth year.
ART21 founder and executive director Susan Sollins will lead the ArtPrize Grand Jury to award the event's Juried Grand Prize winner. The Grand Jury also includes two artists to be featured in the forthcoming Season 7 of the PBS broadcast series ART21 Art in the Twenty-First Century: Leonardo Drew and Katharina Grosse.
The world preview of Art in the Twenty-First Century, Season 7 will take place during ArtPrize on October 2, with a U.S. broadcast premiere to follow on PBS later in the fall. Additional screenings of other ART21 films will also take place throughout the event.

Two ART21 Education events will take place on the East Coast next month:
- Alumni from the past five years of the ART21 Educators program will convene in New York City for the ART21 Educators Alumni Institute, July 10-14. This program offers opportunities to visit exhibitions and artists' studios, share best practices, and create a collaborative vision for the future of this expanding community of educators dedicated to teaching and learning through contemporary art.
- On July 31, ART21 will participate in the Harvard University/Project Zero Future of Learning conference in Boston, MA. In collaboration with ART21 New York Close Up artist Mary Mattingly, ART21 is presenting a workshop titled, "Creating the 21st Century: How do artists address urgent questions and make compelling ideas take form in a global context?"

ART21 Access: Host or Attend a Screening |
ART21 Access is a global campaign providing access to contemporary art and artists through hundreds of free public screenings and events. Organizations of all sizes are invited to screen any of ART21's films free of charge.
By the end of 2013, ART21 had confirmed over 300 partners across the globe, spread over six continents. That's approximately 3,000 screenings spanning 49 states and 50 countries. Find a screening event near you.
To participate in the Access '14 program, in conjunction with Season 7 of Art in the Twenty-First Century premiering this fall, register here.
To date, we have a total of 45 screening partners in the U.S., as well as partners in Spain, Portugal, Pakistan, Mexico, India, Grenada, Greece, Colombia, Canada, Bolivia, Australia, Ethiopia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Israel, South Africa, Barbados, and Argentina.

Highlights from the ART21 Magazine |
This summer, the ART21 Magazine is the domain of guest editor Rachel Craft, who is curating a wide array of content that speculates on our collective and individual futures.
Writer-in-Residence Oakland-based writer Ben Valentine is the "Future" issue writer-in-residence. Valentine kicked off his series on the future of technology in the arts by interviewing Ingrid Burrington, an artist, designer, and writer who investigates the Internet and surveillance technologies.

ART21 Art in the Twenty-First Century Collection Available today through ShopPBS.org and other retailers, this beautiful box-set edition contains 24 one-hour programs spanning six seasons of ART21 Art in the Twenty-First Century. This collection includes rare footage on 100 contemporary artists.
Single and dual seasons of the Art in the Twenty-First Century series are also available on DVD. Each season includes four hours of programming featuring profiles of twelve or more of today's leading contemporary artists.
ART21 William Kentridge: Anything Is Possible This Peabody Award-winning feature film provides an in-depth look at South African artist William Kentridge as he creates new works, including his staging of Shostakovich's The Nose at The Metropolitan Opera in New York City.
