Helping Seniors Thrive

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program provides nutritionally-balanced, shelf-stable food packages. This program provides monthly food assistance targeted for low-income seniors. Individuals age 60 and over with incomes of less than 130 percent of the federal poverty line (approximately $15,171 for a senior living alone in 2014) are eligible for the program. CSFP must be funded each year through the annual federal appropriations process and can only serve as many eligible people as funding allows. As a result, CSFP only operates in 39 states. We are proud that we can offer this program in North Dakota!  For more information please contact Cathy Herbold.

Running to Fight Hunger

The Great Plains Food Bank will be the recipient of event proceeds raised from the first ever Fight Hunger 5K sponsored by Hope Lutheran Church, Fargo. Funds collected will support the Cass-Clay BackPack Program which provides hungry children with a backpack filled with food over the weekend when other resources are not available. In addition to the 5K Run/Walk there will be live music, Games Galore for the children and a Spaghetti Feed. Register here!

Thank You.

The Great Plains Food Bank was thrilled to be among the top five charities to raise money on Giving Hearts Day 2015!  Your generosity is making a tremendous impact on the lives of children living with hunger in ND and western MN.  Because of you we will be able to provide 659,246 meals! Thanks to our match partners, Capital Credit Union (Bismarck), Choice Financial (Bismarck & Fargo), DMF, KLJ Employees
 (
Bismarck), Maring Williams Law Office (Bismarck & Fargo) and a group of generous individuals. Together we will end childhood hunger!
