LIFE After Death

What does our Pastor of Discipleship, Rev. Shay Reyner, have in common with movie star Scarlet Johansen? Join us this Sunday in worship to find out!! And while you are here, discover what the Bible says about our resurrection bodies coming in the future for those who know Christ as I continue the message series, "Life After Death."

And, join us as we give a warm welcome back to:
·      Katie Basden, who has returned from "The Voice" after a great performance.
·      Debbie Painter, who has returned from visiting her son (former RBC member and current IMB missionary to Belgium) Justin Ham and narrowly missed the terrorist bombing at the airport.

*** We are in between seasons and our HVAC is kind of confused. We recommend bringing a sweater or jacket for the Exalt Service in case it is too cold for you. Things should settle down in a few weeks.

EASTER HARVEST AT THE DURHAM RESCUE MISSION
Over 2,200 of our fellow Durham citizens who are struggling with addiction, abuse, poverty or homelessness came to Durham Rescue Mission Easter Celebration.  1440 Easter baskets were provided to children, 1900 meals served and 5000 articles of clothing given away.  The result, along with the obvious meeting of physical needs was the coming to Christ of 143 lost souls!  That equates to one salvation for every 10 Easter Baskets given.

There are many ways you can continue to support God's work at the Durham Rescue Mission in mending shattered lives.  If you or your Connect Group are interested in using your time and talents at the mission, volunteers are need for a variety of needs to include; GED Tutoring, room remolding, automotive mechanics, dentistry and general medicine (the Mission just opened its free dental and medical clinic at the Good Samaritan Inn) or would like to provide meals or donate clothing, contact Janine Guadagno at 919-724-9917, Ridgecrest's ambassador for the mission, and she will work to connect your talents to their needs.

For Adults and High School Students:

#1 How To Communicate Compassion To Others (Denise Simmons)
This Intensive will deal with sharpening the skill of contact, communication, and compassion by taking a glimpse into the heart of people that cross our path and learning to see them as Jesus sees them. The goal is to begin to see and hear things that others miss in the busyness of life that clouds our view and mutes our encounters with people

#2 Life Management  (Jarrod Gunn)
This Intensive will deal with how to get things done and live productively in all areas of your life. It will explore God's vision for our lives and how we can glorify him by doing good for others radically, creatively, and abundantly. It will give you some helpful tools for managing the craziness of life and for keeping worry, stress, and anxiety at a minimum.

#3 Mission Sewing (Joyce Buck)
This unique Intensive will work on several projects to be used in Haiti, Guatemala,  and  West Virginia.  If you do not know how to sew, we will teach you. If you have a portable machine and want to learn how to use it, come we will help you with it. We do have several machines if you do not have one to bring. (You may also donate a portable machine or supplies.) You may come and get patterns and work more at home or just do a project while at church. Most of all we pray for the people that receive what our hands craft. Come as early as 2PM or come at the regular Growth Intensive time. We will finish at 7PM. We also could use some knitters and crocheters.

#4 Membership Matters (Shay Reyner)
Interested in becoming a member at Ridgecrest or finding out more about who we are and what makes us tick? This Intensive is the first step you need to take if you desire to join our fellowship. You will learn among other things:
  • What does it mean to be Southern Baptist?
  • What are the distinctives of Ridgecrest?
  • Why does membership matter?

#5 Marriage Matters (Marc and Pam Francis)
The Song of Solomon teaches the Biblical design for relationships. This Intensive is for both singles and married couples, This study follows Solomon's relationship from attraction to dating and courtship, marriage and intimacy to resolving conflict, keeping romance alive, and committing to the end. Format includes both video and discussion.

#6 Money Matters (Floyd Green)
In this intensive you will learn some tips about 1) how to de-stress about money, 2) how to make smart money decisions, 3) how to avoid money mistakes that most people make, and 4) how to live more generously.
