Last Minute Preparations from Cheever
What better time to write my eblast than on my way to meet one of Toko's finest representatives, Christian Stalder.
I am on my way to Davos, Switzerland. Its normally a 2.5 hour drive from Pitztal, Austria. My lack of chains brought me within 15 km of my destination. An Icy pass caused me to backtrack 10 km, jump on a train and... well now I'm about 3/4 through my hour train ride. There is excellent scenery in the alps, so I am enjoying.
My world cup season starts in a few days. Right now is the time to squeeze in last minute glide testing and finish chasing down some equipment as usual... I mean its only just before the Olympic season begins. No stress... its only the snow industry
Today, -20 temps at the mid station make for brutal training. Also, its a good reminder to be on a practice deck, as the snow has the consistency of throwing stars. So I made sure my wax is cold and I check my base every run to make sure the base isn't being burnt.
Some people may be desperate to squeeze a ton of last min training in.. whether its on or off snow. My advice, stay healthy, don't burn out now because winning training doesn't matter. Get your quality runs in, get your muscles firing and stay warm.
