Winter is in the air in most mountain towns. There is even snow in Park City! Race season is right around the corner for me and Ligety already brought home a gold in Soelden... but more importantly the Sox are a game away from winning the World Series.
I am sitting about six weeks out from my first event and 100 days out from the opening ceremonies in Sochi (I hope). I do not know what the snow conditions will be like this far in advanced of any race, but I want to make sure my new snowboards are going to be fast.
I have 8 race sticks this year. They all are tested and proven fast. I have my core group that is ready to rock, two bases for cold snow and two for... well its kind of a secret. I am making sure my boards are waxed, thermal bagged, scraped, brushed as shiny as can be, then repeat.
My old snowboards are being used on the glacier at the moment as I still do not trust the snowpack enough to not have a piece of coral reef poking through that may turn a racer into a freerider.
