Update from Jonathan Cheever
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. New Years day puts me 10 months out of an Achilles rupture. I feel like I am back to riding 100%. At least physically. My first World Cup back, in Montafon, Austria proved to be a mild success. I was riding well enough to podium, but detonated myself by failing to put the brakes on when needed over a jump. Too deep and too hard... That's what my legs said. Over shot a jump, blew off course and ended up finishing 6th place.
Next up was a Team SBX. A sweet video in the attached link shows some highlights from the Team Final. Fourth place finish and badly hurt or minor injured rib.
Telluride proved to be a bust. It was nice an American won the World Cup. Respect Seth... but I couldn't get out of Qualifiers!? Bad bib draw gave me a slow course first run. Second run qualis was just a blow out in turn three. Jackie Robinson was number 42 and so was I that race.
Luckily for me I held my top four spot as an American and 12th overall. That qualifies me for World Champs Jan 26th in Stoneham, Quebec. Stoneham has been nice to me in the past (Three World Cup Podiums).. However My wax technician just tore his Achilles.
Also, in the next few weeks, the documentary I am working on should have its first trailer.
