Grain Harvest and Historic Baseball
Saturday, August 1
Experience the many methods used to harvest oats and wheat from 1850 to the present. Try your hand at flailing wheat, see historic machinery from the 1920s-1950s, and witness a steam-powered thresher in action. Demonstrations will be weather dependent. In the town of Walnut Hill from 11-4, enjoy children's crafts, free popcorn and lemonade, and a historic baseball game at 1:30pm.
Victorian Birthday Saturday, August 8 We're celebrating a Victorian child's birthday in the Flynn Mansion! You're invited to visit the house to see historic decorations, check out the party gifts, and make a birthday favor. Explore the boys' and girls' bedrooms to discover the clothing and daily life of a privileged child, along with a chance to play with toys of the era. Join in a party game and try a sweet party treat in the side yard at the end of your visit.
Harvest Wagon Rides
Saturday, August 15
Take a ride through the fields and country roads of Living History Farms in a wagon pulled by Percheron draft horses. After your ride, join other guests for light refreshments and relaxation while watching day change to night at Living History Farms. Rides at 5pm and 7pm. Advanced registration required.
