You'll travel on foot from the 1700 Ioway Indian Farm to the 1850 Pioneer Farm, and 1900 Horse-Powered Farm and through our 1875 Town to experience the springtime preparations and activities of each historical time period. www.LHF.org/Homeschool

Summer Day Camp begins
June 3, 2015 - pre-registration required
Living History Farms is located on 500 acres of rolling prairie filled with bubbling streams and nature paths begging to be explored. Our outdoor day camp setting provides a fun & unique way for children entering kindergarten through 12th grade to experience day-to-day farm and town life as it was in the past. Campers will fill their days with outdoor, hands-on activities, games, crafts and visits to Living History Farms' historic sites. www.LHF.org/SummerDayCamp

Fido on the Farms
June 6, 2015
Dogs are always welcome for visits to Living History Farms, and on this special day we'll have activities and demonstrations for dogs and their people from 11-4. You and your pooch will have a doggone good time bobbing for wieners, playing musical hoops, and more! Dogs must be on standard (non-retractable) leashes, and remain outside buildings and away from livestock.

45th Anniversary Reunion - NEW
June 13, 2015
If you haven't visited LHF since you were in school, it's time to come back and participate in some of our favorite hands on activities from our first 45 years! Throughout the day we'll feature activities all around the museum, from baking biscuits in the 1900 Farm kitchen and cross cut sawing at the 1850 Pioneer Farm to Historic Baseball in Walnut Hill. www.LHF.org/45

House and Home Travel Exhibit Opens - NEW
June 15, 2015
Throughout American history, people have lived in all sorts of places, from military barracks and two-story colonials to college dormitories and row houses. Drawn from the flagship installation at the National Building Museum, House & Home embarks on a tour of houses both familiar and surprising, through past and present, to explore the varied history, and many cultural meanings of the American home. Free with regular admission.

Pioneer Wedding
June 20, 2015

Join us at the 1850 Farm for a recreated pioneer wedding celebration, including a wedding ceremony and cake for the guests! Weddings brought the pioneer community together for traditional foods and fun. Discover the most popular gifts for a pioneer bride and watch the groomsmen ride the groom on a rail to celebrate his new good fortune. Help in the "shivaree" and play a good-natured, very noisy, prank on the wedding couple. Visitors will become part of the day's fun, with ceremonies at 11:00am and 1:30pm.

Teacher Appreciation Day
June 26, 2015
Living History Farms says, "thank you!" to all of the teachers who put in the time and effort to bring learning to life for their students. Experience all there is to offer for your students on a future visit. Teachers admitted free; family members pay regular admission fee. Teachers must present school ID to receive free admission.
